Lester Joseph Ambrose (1879 - 1949) was born in Gardendale, Erie County, New York, to Joseph W. Ambrose and Mary Schmitz Ambrose on 16th January, 1879. He was a Veteran of the Spanish-American War. He married my great aunt, Lila Sikes, daughter of Isaac Joseph Sikes and Augusta Virginia Brooks Sikes of Macon, Georgia.
