George Sotter was one of the New Hope Circle's most admired artists. Clouds of Evening is a beautiful example of the artist's work. This large oil on canvas measures 36 x 40 inches and is signed at lower right. The painting was created in the 1920s and was exhibited at the Carnegie Institute in 1926 (as indicated by a label on reverse).
