"Barn Hill" is an oil on canvas painting by Pennsylvania Dutch folk artist and antique dealer, David Ellinger (American, 1913 - 2003). The 24" x 32" farm scene with red barn is signed "D Ellinger" on the front lower left as well as signed and titled on verso. The painting is framed in a distressed wooden frame. David Y. Ellinger often painted on velvet and cloth as well as on standard artists' canvas and panel. Ellinger died on March 24, 2003 at eighty-nine years of age. An avid auction-goer himself, Ellinger loved to talk about his work when attending such events.
